My gear is worn on one side. I have a 69 Buick Skylark 350. TA wants $35 does anyone think I can do better at price? I posted a parts wanted thread but figured I might get more responses posting a question here as well. Thanks
You can certainly get a gear for less than 35.00 I'm sure someone will answer your parts wanted thread. When I had a spare distributor converted by the Ignitionman (Dave Ray), I needed a gear for it. Dave charged me 5.00. You can probably get a whole distributor in a boneyard for about 10.00. Have you looked?
Haven't looked into the getting one from a yard yet. I was hoping to find a new gear since my cam is new as well. Thanks for your input on price. I have seen entire slightly used distributors for around $35 so I thought a new gear should be priced $5-10 as well.
