Woodward cruise Mustang kill

Went to the "Woodward Dream Cruise" on Saturday morning, saw alot of really cool cars. A few scattered Rivieras,GS's and GN's. I hung out with some of my wifes relatives at the northern end of Woodward @ Pontiac. It seems like the Pontiac police are a little more lenient on the burnouts and "exhibition of speed"!
My wifes uncle and cousins wanted to go for a spin in the GS, so I obliged. We were on our way back to their parking spot and while we were stopped at a light a early 90's Mustang convertible rolls up next to us and threw a couple of revs at us. I didn't think much of it until the light turned green and he leaves hard, I told the 900+ lbs of meat in my GS to hang on! I dumped the clutch and with the extra ballast I had in the back seat of the my car, it grabbed and took off like a shot. I caught the Mustang at the top of 1st gear, grabbed 2nd and kept pulling past him. When we pulled up to the the next light he stayed in back of me even though the next lane was open. When the traffic thinned he slowly came past me. I noticed that it had a small roll bar and looked like it was a early type of Saleen? The license plate frame said "Supercharged by Vortech". Not sure if it was or not but I know I surprised the heck out of him, especially with 4 guys in my car!
    Torque Rules!!

I was up in Pontiac with a bunch of friends Friday and Saturday. The police were very lenient with the burnouts on the west side of the loop. Peace, Mike D.

Thats where I was at, on the west side of the split, right across from where the 30+ 1969-72 Grand Prixs were at. There was a couple of times that some of the group of R/T 5.9 Dodge Dakotas that were parked by us were going to end up on the sidewalk because they got so squirrely doing burnouts!!
My wifes 65 year old aunt has a orange tubbed 75 Nova that she was out looking for races in! The Pontiac police saw here race the same guy 3 times before they pulled here over and told her nicely to knock it off. She also has a nice 72 Monte Carlo and a Harley...who says you have to get old!!! :TU:

Here are couple of pics. One of them is of our company president and myself about a month ago. My car was voted Judges choice by the VPs and GMs. The Japanese staff were very impressed by the "American Muscle Cars".
I offered a ride but he had to go to a meeting after the pics. He told me that he was very impressed by the car and the nice "lumpy idle". I would have loved to show him some real slideways BBB torque action...heh heh!!:3gears:

I was with a guy in a 64 blue Buick Special that was roasting them thru 3rd gear. I couldn't believe they were letting that happen. The 64 has a 500"BBC and a 4L80E he never broke it, I don't know why. He must have done 50 of them Saturday alone.

Thanks for the compliments! The paint is a PPG 85-86 Buick and Cadillac color called Black Cherry. I get alot of compliments on the color. It looks kind of Black until the sun hits it and kind of pops out at you.
The engine is a 470" ( offset ground crank w/BBC rods) built by Bobb and Geoff at Finishline. I have actually detuned it some by removing the SP-1/Demon 850 and putting the stock intake/Norm Dihle Q-jet on. When Finishline built it it made @ 520hp/550 tq. It is a ton of fun with the 4 speed !!:3gears:

    Jerrold,
Will do. I like the Depot Town cruise in Ypsilanti on Thursdays or the VFW in Plymouth on Wed. Let me know if you have a free night to cruise!

The VFW is just north of Ann Arbor/Plymouth rd. on Mill st. Its VFW Post 528 on Mill st. (They call it Cruzin' 528). Mill is about 1.5 miles west of I-275. Maybe I will see you and Carl there.
