Had the twin turbo running last weekend. Pullled the distributor to change the advanced bushing. Put it back in ..... no start. Kinda backfired thru carb. Confirmed on tdc compression stroke. The pics show rotor pointing at #1 while at zero timing. #1 is at approx 10 o'clock when cap is on... frustrated ! Any ideas what the issue is???
That rotor position is 180* from where my #1 is. Just because the balancer mark is lined up with the 0 on the tab does not mean #1 is on the compression stroke.
I blew a cork out of it so it's definitely on compression stroke. Guess I installed the distributor 180* out then.....
Hey Larry, The #1 wire is at 10 o'clock when looking from drivers side front fender. Tried to Upload photo, said it's too big
10 o'clock is correct. In your rotor picture, the firing end is pointing at 4 o'clock. That is 180* out if your #1 plug wire is at 10.
Yep it is! Feel like an ass, installed it 180* off. Go figure why it wouldn't start. Cheers Larry, thanks.
You can use MS Paint or another similar program to convert bitmap images to jpeg images. This reduces the file size and usually permits it to upload. Alternatively, you could use a website that supports larger pictures, such as photobucket (I think that's what it's called?) and add the link here to it.
Thanks for being so helpful to the community, Larry. You're a good man, and it's always a pleasure to read your posts.
