Really nice Easter weekend going on here in Bucks County PA.
Had the Buick out again today for a nice long ride, have one problem that I have tried to figure out for the past two hours.
All my head lamps, marker lights, brake lights work fine even have right turn signals. The problem is I do not have left turn signals, they light up but no blinking.
I have replaced the brand new bulbs in the front and rear (1157A front & 1157 clear rear) with another set of brand new bulbs, same thing
I also checked and cleaned the grounds in the front of the car on both sides, checked all grounding straps, cleaned the contacts, checked the wires on the parking lights and still no left turn signal.
Is there something else I'm missing?
    Thanks for the help,

    Tony

Sounds like maybe the turn signal switch is bad.

Dumb question, is that a part that can still be purchased new? or is this a used part purchase?

You can buy one new repro, or NOS. They are pretty cheap repro...maybe 40., NOS double or triple that. Do your 4 way flashers work? You could pull the wheel and look around before you but, it might just be dirty contacts.

Put your 4 ways on,if all four corners lite up,turn on your headlites and see if that changes the left side brightness of the turn bulbs.if it does you've bot a bad ground.Since your lites come on but don't flash,my first guess would be a bad flasher.Turn and 4 ways are two different flashers. Also use a test lite at the bulb sockets to make sure your getting contiuity.

Definitely try the flasher before you dig into the switch and to the 4 way test above.

I replaced both flashers and I have both turn signals however, the middle bulb at the rear is half as bright as the outer bulb. I did the above test with the 4 ways and then with the headlights on, the middle rear bulb is still half as bright.
I put another new bulb in from different pack and same thing. The bulb does sit in there pretty tight. I did notice that the bulb in the left front seems to be not as tight as all the other sockets in the car. I did push up the two wires in case one of them were not making contact and it is still the same outcome. They do still have spring action so I'm not sure what else it could be. I removed and cleaned the 4 ground wires at the front of the car again and still no difference.
    Might be grabbing here but,
Could it be that after I installed the steering wheel the canceling cam on the left turn signal was not working like the right turn signal? You would have to return it yourself after making left turn, right turn snapped back by itself.
and the last thought is, honestly this did happen today. My wife calls me at work about 4:15pm and says that my horn for some reason just started going off for no reason. She had to pull the wire for the horn.
Could it be something grounding out in the steering column?

The headlight switch was back feeding into the circut, replaced with new one and now turn signals work fine and rear bulbs are normal.
Still do not have driver's side front parking light, I'm thinking there must be something wrong with the bulb socket. the brown, black and blue wires and connectors are in really good shape, I have good power and connectors from the harness.
I'm going to try to crimp the socket a little to see if that will tighten the bulb enough and see if that helps.

Update.... all bulb sockets are good and tight with good contacts, still no drivers side parking light. everything else works fine.
Was getting super frustrated with this. So when I put the "new" BWG switch in it seemed to get better so I thought it still might be the switch, went over to NAPA got a new "ECHLIN" one and now ALL IS GOOD!!!
Thank goodness that is all over, can't wait to see what pops up next.

Isn't it fun owning an old car?

Finally fixed that drivers side parking light, it was a grounding issue from the socket to the housing.
All I did was put a bead of solder from the socket to the housing and it works perfect.
