wiring harness

Has anyone here used Ron Francis wiring before. looking for you input. I need to replace my under dash and engine wiring harness.

The Consenus here is M + H and Factory Fit are the best. I believe they sell the same harnesses as they carry the same part numbers. I would stick with one of these many have had succces with.

 

Is the Factory Fit from American Auto wire or a different company.

Same company. Ask them if Tach wire is incorporated in harness. Earlier built 71 GS cars had tach wire in harness. Later cars used the Skylark harness with a tach wire outside main harness.

I have a HEI distributor and also run a electric fan . my car has A/C but not working currently and has been removed. I guess I could set those wires aside but wanted to aviod that so I don't have any issues with wires lying around.

I just installed a new engine wire harness by M&H and tach wire was purchase separate.

M&H will build it for what you have if you request it. Takes a little while. I was happy with what I got from them.

 

My 71 had the part number and letter code on the label of the wiring harness and was specific to a gauge and tach car. Later 71's had the tach wire outside the harness. The tach wire in the engine compartment was always a single brown wire.

 

My harness also has a hood tach wire taped up on it. Not sure if all cars had this one.
