I have a '69 GS and need a member to fill me in on the most popular wire harness for my car. (bumper to bumper) I have a generic one. Can't remember the name. Not a popular brand like painless.
    Thanks alot!!

Unless you're into a lot of custom wiring and tearing bits and pieces out of your old harness, you wouldn't want a Painless. Go with one of the complete kits like M&H sells. I bought the Painless 18 circuit musclecar harness. What I didn't realize is that it doesn't come with all of the wiring or connectors. A perfect example is the windshield wiper/washer motor. Painless gives you the hot lead, period. I had to cut out the rest of the 4 wires from the old harness and reuse it with the old connectors. Don't get me wrong, it's a good kit in some cases. I switched to a one wire alternator, complete MSD, remote starter solenoid, aftermarket gauges and a Vintage Air wil be going in soon. So it was dumb to buy a nice 100% correct harness and then cut it up to put the upgrades in. The Buick service manual was worth it's weight in gold. I spent a lot of time tracing wires to figure out what powered what! I will buy another Painless when I start on the racecar, lots less to wire

"Facotory Fit" out of New Jersey sells nice original type harnesses. They are sold in pieces as original. Very expesive to replace all parts of a car especially under dash harness. Over $400 just for that part.
