Hi All Just got a 1974 Apollo and need to fix several wiring problems but cannot find diagrams. Does anybody know where I can Buy, or download Diagrams. Also there is a plug located under the seat that I have no ideal what is for it has maybe 7 or 8 wires can anyone give me Ideas. bobby
Seat belt buzzer/ starter immobiliser system :TU: Typical for model year 1974: Federal law required all vehicles to have seat belt interlock system that prevents engine from starting unless driver and front seat passenger are buckled up. Photo of a system like that on a 1974 Chebby:
simply cross wires to gether under seat before unit to act as is seat belt buckled, check wires from buckle, usually just a simple grounding of this will send signal , have 73 did not have this, have 75 buick electra beeps on belt mode. There is no computer on this yet, is a simple cross to ground to allow ignition to turn over at key base of column. Chase wires from unit to column find out which ones goe to key signal and cross at column would work too. craig
