Looking for some help on an obscure wire that is broken off. It runs thru a small block/keeper in the firewall immediately below the fuse box and is white in color. Mine is brken off and I cannot figure out what it is for and where it should connect. Sorry to be so vague. Any help would be great. Thanks, steve

AC or heater controls will come thru the firewall next to the regulator, rules these out. Dash tach. was factory thru a rubber grommet near the firewall bulkhead harness connector & was a brown # 16 or 14 conductor, rules that out.
Where does it go in the engine bay? Not sure where the cruise controls passed thru.
May be an added wire by previous owner?

Steve Cruise passes thru under the master cyl in a loom with the vaccum lines. Maybe the radio noise suppressor wire?

    John,
I'm thinking all the factory wiring is in the main engine & light harness. This is in the area of the firewall bulkhead. Cruise is now there too.

    Steve,
Does the car have rear window defroster? There was a resistor wire out from & returning to the switch on the dash. Hi-lo speed was achieved by the resistor. Memory tells me it was fabric covered, which could have faded to white. It ran from the fuse block area , behind the toe board & under the carpet. About 7-8 feet long overall.

Might be defogger. It doesn't pass thru the firewall, it runs thru a 1 inch ling "keeper" block on the inner firewall, just below the fuse block. I rally appreciate the help. I may need to resport to schematics and wiring diagrams. Yikes! Steve

There are no wires that go through the firewall below the fuse box

Rear defogger wire is purple and runs to jumper on fuse box.

Wondering if it may be the reverse lights, as I would imagine there is a switch on the trans itself ( 4 speed). I know there is another connector on the steering column that this may feed to. Steve

The reverse is on the collumn when you put the car in reverse the lockour rod accuates it. If I am remembering correctly.

Cruise is in its own hole just below the booster assy. The wire he found maybe for the warning buzzer? I have the wiring diagram and will check for a white wire and get back:puzzled:

My diagram shows white is for door switches, sail panel lights and courtesy light optins. A single white wire not finding it. Is it possible that your car had a roll control or some other aftermarket part added?
