I have this 71 lesabre and the wires to the motor were cut by my brother when he owned it-I guess he needed wires one day and used them. :shock: Anyway the motor does work, but now I don't know which ones go to which post on the motor. There are 5 that are cut coming out of the firewall a green one, light blue, dark blue, beige, and red. Any help is appreciated. the motor and wiper fluid box both need to be hooked up. It looks like there are two wire posts on the wiper fluid box and then three posts on the actual motor that sit underneath the fluid motor.
awesome thanks for the quick response, I'm not sure if my colors are all the same, but I'll give it a shot. I know I have 5 wires that were cut and it looks like only 4 hook up. Is that a red wire or orange wire that hooks into the connector closest to the passanger side? I assume my red wire must go there. I don't know if it will hurt anything to put the wrong wires to the wrong spot, maybe only make the switch operate strange. I just don't want to ruin the motor-I'll let you know what happens.-thanks again
Unless the wiring has been completely rerun or replaced at one time, it should appear the same colors as the one I pictured. I took those pictures from a 42,000 mile original 71 LeSabre. They should all be the same. These four colors should be coming out of the harness from the firewall: find them::: Light Blue w/ Black Stripe Dark Blue Yellow Black w/ Orange Stripe All wires are 18 guage
wow thanks again, I'm sure your right with the wire colors, mine are probably very dirty or faded, I've been meaning to get out there, and both days it snowed to much-I've been pretty excited to go out there, but I guess it'll have to wait for a few more days.
