wiper motor problem

    I'm restoring a 1983 buick prk ave I have replaced 2 wiper motors already on my third now. My problem when it is cold or very damp and mildew my wipers won't work untill the car warms up go figure also on this new motor I have an allen key never had before now my washers won;t work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ( This is getting tiresum ). I really could use the help guys. Have a great wk!!!!

    sounds like a poor ground that is breaking down under moisture. the wiring connectors to the wiper motor could also be corroded.

    It sounds like you may have a bad wiper switch. As far as the washers not working and the allen wrench thing.... You need to align the washer pump cam with a hole in the wiper motor. The allen wrench gets inserted in the holes to line them up when you re-assemble the wiper motor. If you do not align these items the washer will not work. There should have been some instructions that came with the replacement wiper motor regarding the alignment of the washer pump cam.
