Quick question, can someone who has a 70-72 GS look at their windshield washer assembly and tell me what the orientation is for this plug? Does the single blue wire plug go on the left or right (when looking at it) Mine's been in pieces so long I've forgot how some of these hook up ou:
If memory serves me correctly... if you take a close look at the wire assembly plug and then male terminals on the motor you'll see that they can only be connected one way. Two to the male terminals have tabs sticking out near the base of each one of them. The terminals in the plug, or the plug itself, has slots for the tabs to engage. If you try to install the plug incorrrectly, it will not fully engage. Try it both ways and you'll see what I mean.
You know... now that I've taken a second look at your question and my answer, I see I could have done a better job of explaining myself. You've outlined the two connectors (a single terminal connector and a two-terminal connector) that plug into the 3-terminal receptical on the WSW motor. If you look closely at the photo, you'll see the slot that I mentioned in my previous response in the side of the two-terminal connector that's facing the camera. First, line up the slot on the two-terminal connector with the tab on one of the outboard terminals of the 3-terminal receptical on the WSW, and install the connector. Like I said before, it will only seat completely in one position. After that, simply install the single terminal on the remaining exposed pin of the receptical. Hopefully this helps.
The single blue wire belongs in the upper outside position (towards driver fender)and the double yellow in the lower inside postition. This is the way mine are attached and they work correctly.
Slight correction. The double yellow goes in the middle and the black goes to the lowest position. The blue(w black stripe) is still the upper.
