Ok, I'm taking my 72 Skylark door panels off but can not get the window handle off. Is there a trick to getting it off? I have been prying it against the door panel and I think I see a clip but I'm not sure and I can not get a screwdriver behind it anyway. Please help.

There's a tool for that. There is a little round wire clip on the stem of the handle. If your good, you can sometimes pop it off with a very long, very thin screwdriver or a small pick. But your best bet is to get the tool. Lisle makes it among others. Im sure its readily available at most aut parts stores tomorrow.

there is also plenty of room to use a piece of coat hanger with a small hook bent on one end and pull the clip off. however I think the clip on mine would pull off opposite of what is in the picture at the link above.

Good point. The clip can be installed facing the handle or in the opposite direction

Mine won't stay on worth a darn when I have the clips reversed; the slots aren't 180 degrees apart for some reason.

I've used a rag to slide under the handle and catch the edge of the clip.
works pretty good in a pinch or junk yard

use an old t-shirt. works great and keeps the clip from flying
