Just had a new window put in and thought I could now get the window antenna system to work. It looks like the lead from the glass is connected and I put in a new antenna wire. Does not work at all. So what is the trick to making this work?

No tricks that I know of. Plug-n-play. Not the best antenna in the world, but they do work. (usually)

I'm using the original window antenna. Works flawlessly for me.

I am pretty sure that the window install did not get it right. So would like a pic of what it is supposed to look like.

sounds like the windshield lead may have not been plugged into the cowl area properly or a damaged connection at cowl

Will take a pic tomorrow and post. Has to be someone here that has installed one.

Interested in what you find here. Had my windshield replaced and thinking the same as you plugged in the lead at the connecter and lots of static. I'm thinking the connecter at the windshield is flawed somehow.
It's so hard to find a good glass guy and had a body shop do it and when asked about it he says if it was there they connected it(yeah right).

So I promised a photo. I now need your best excuses. :Dou:

The good part is that the radio works great now. :)

Doug, I don't have any clue as to why yours does not work. I do not know if the lead comes with the windshield or it has to be connected somehow. Larry is correct that the antenna should work great.

Yeah, it works better when the glass tech plugs it in!
