Will this part be OK ?

I have just received a new timing cover I ordered. On inspection, the machined surface is not uniform and I'm asking whether this will affect water flow or cooling. What do you think please. o No:

 

It should be fine as long as the pump impeller doesn't contact it.

I didn't want the hassle of having to ship it back for a return.

 

OEM part was all cast and it was even more rough there.

 

That makes me more happier now.
