You're welcome. I haven't scratched any wheels.... yet! I place the tip on the bottom of the cap prying at an upward angle (handle pointing toward ground) and use a mallet to firmly tap the end of the handle and the cap will pop right off. Definitely helps to have a second set of hands to lightly hold the cap though so it does not fall to the ground. I've had that tool, same brand, just a different handle for over twenty years. I've used it on wheel covers and hubcaps, and it has always got them off without issue. You could also place a piece of painters tape on the bottom edge of the pry bar part of tool if there's any concern about scratching the paint. I also think there is a something similar designed for center caps only. Maybe made out of plastic? I searched quickly on Google but could not find it.
Well..... It didn't take long for Jarrod to far surpass anything I've done with my 66 GS or the 66 Red Special! All the changes he's made to the Special since he got it and what he's doing on the 67 GS400 is pretty amazing to me. Really enjoy going up to visit and help out where I can. I liked the chrome rallys on it, but the dog dish with new wheels really grows on you; looks awesome! Dad
The Special is such a great car, happy to be able to drive and work on it. It was transferred to me in such great shape (Dad you might need to update your signature as the Special has the two 4’s now!!). I am also excited to see how the 67 is coming along, always a big step getting the body back on the chassis. There is nobody I would rather be out in the shop working on it with. Always glad to have the help!

Just to update for anyone considering going through US wheel. As Jarrod has mentioned earlier - they are really easy to work with and accommodating to your needs. I placed my order on 11/24. They were built on 12/1 and are in the next batch of wheels to get painted with an estimated ship date of 12/22. I am going to be running an 18x9 and 18x10, so had to get custom back spacing for the rears and clips installed in order to run a dog dish cap. The clip installation was $25/wheel. I will post pictures when received and installed.
