Will lead additive hurt a newly rebuilt engine?

The engine on my conv. is being rebuilt and of course, the valve seats will be hardened so I can run on pump gas. If I remember correctly, one of the last times I drove the car I had put in some of that lead additive stuff for the original engine. So, if there is still that additive stuff left in the tank and it circulates into the rebuilt engine, will it damage anything? Do I forget about it or tell the rebuilder to empty out what's left in the tank?:Do No: David

I wouldn't worry about the lead additive in your case. My concern would be the age of the gas in the tank. Don't want to run old varnish/crud through that new engine now do we?
