Do the '67 Wildcat and '67 LeSabre share the same body? I know the grille and hood are different, but I don't know about the rest.

I know LeSabre for '67 is 3" shorter in overall length and wheelbase than Wildcat/Electra. I believe the overall difference is in the front sheetmetal, i.e. fenders & hood. Not sure where the wheelbase difference comes in. Maybe someone else can verify.

LeSabre is 123" Wheelbase-Wildcat 126" Wheelbase-yes the difference is from the firewall forward. The LeSabre hood and front fenders are shorter than the Wildcat. Wildcat has chrome center hood strip (shared with Electra), LeSabre does not. Wildcat has fender skirts ('67 and '68) LeSabre does not. Different grilles, Taillights (subtle difference here in '67), different side trim/rocker moldings, badging, etc. The bodies of LeSabre and Wildcat are essentially the same from the firewall back, save for the hardware in the wheel wells for the fender skirts. :Smarty:

Everything David said on the post above is correct.

The Wildcat from 1965 to 1968 shared it's wheelbase and it's frame (except for the shorter rear section) with the Electra. The LeSabre had a shorter frame and the side rails were not boxed like those of the Wildcat and Electra models.

The Wildcat's "B" body was the same as the LeSabre's body and the Wildcat was the only GM "B" body with a 126" wheelbase.

The Wildcat's mechanical components (engine, transmission, differential, aluminium brakes, driveshaft) were also shared with the Electra model and they were, bigger than the ones used on the LeSabre. The LeSabre shared many of it's mechanical components with the mid size Special and Skylark models.

In 1967, the base Wildcat (464) model shared most of it's interior trim with the LeSabre Custom (454) model but it's dashboard had more chrome trim.
The Wildcat Custom (466) had more luxurious interior trim that was exclusive to this model.

The base LeSabre model (452) had cheaper interior trim without carpeted lower door panels and it lacked chrome trim on the outside that the other full size Buicks had.

Thanks for the information! I have a couple of '67 Wildcats that are in sad shape and found a '67 LeSabre for sale. Although it still sounds like I could take everything and make one car, it also sounds like it would be a lot of extra work.
