Just want to pass along that I had a great conversation with Ian Richardson, owner of Wildcat Engineering, located in the UK. Ian makes heads, 6-bolt blocks, forged cranks and rods for the Rover/215 Buick+Olds engines. He informed me that beyond the castings and valve seats, all of the components he uses come from the US. PEPS in Las Vegas is his source. The cost for a pair of heads with seats and guides is approximately $1740. This is for the Stage I head that has 1.85" intakes and 1.55" exhaust valves. The heads can be swapped onto the 215 and 300 engines. However, some intake work on 215 stock or aftermarket intakes will be needed to fit the raised intake ports. No intakes are available for the 300, so it's back to custom fabrication or use of spacer plates to adapt a 215 intake. Ian tells me that the heads flow comparable numbers to SBC heads and can easily provide high flow in the 7500 rpm range. Ian also makes a Stage II race head with offset valve guides and rockers. These have 1.94" intakes and 1.60" exhausts. We didn't get into pricing. On a closing note, Ian's a pretty cool guy with a ton of knowledge about the smallblock Buicks. If you're serious about building a hot 215 or 300, it would be worth a call to the UK to speak with him.
