See Erik's post for the article :TU:
fun to read Tom McCahill. That car needed 3.91: 1 rear end gears though! May have been faster than the Riv then.

What this country needs is another Tom McCahill!

I love those Tom McCahill drive reports!

I reckon you're also a big TopGear fan, Dale ?

    Same style of reporting :beer

But...the TopGear team has to present the episodes for N-American tv in a milder form, so try to watch the originals on BBC World :TU:

Lacking some options would have helped too! My 65 with it's smaller 401, single carb and the same 3.07 gears has the same top speed... Maybe Uncle Tom should have turned off the A/C!

Ted and Rick, have you tried to go fast with yours?

My favorite McCahillism was when he tested a Ford Pantera around 72 or 73.

"Putting a 5 MPH bumper on this car makes about as much sense as buying a set of golf clubs for a rabbit"

That one still makes me laugh just thinking about it.

"Looks like a football player wearing ballet slippers"

I can't remember what car he was refering to with that one.

Did Tom McCahill ever meet an American car he didn't like?

That's normal, most American cars from this period had much to be liked!
