Long time Skylark owner here, my first was a 1964 two-door hardtop. I traded it in 1971 and almost instantly regretted it. I tried to buy it back four days later, but the dealer had already sold the car and the new owner wouldn't consider selling. So I searched for 15 years and found another, even the same colors as the first, but with the 250 HP, 300 cu. in. engine instead of the 210 HP my original car had. The car has been waiting patiently for me to get to a restoration for years. I will start that process soon. I came across this forum while searching for some of the body panel parts I will need--fender patch panels plus trunk and floor pieces. I guess most everyone here already knows how hard it is to find the parts specific to these cars!

I am a member of other automotive forums and have become very selective about joining; I don't sign up if there is an undercurrent of bashing others. This looks like a good place!

Thanks guys! No Erick, Lurch isn't my real name, but was the nickname my buddies had for the first Skylark. That had something to do with the way it "left the line" when I really wanted to beat the guy next to me....

It may be a while before I get some photos of the current car, I've got a major project ahead of it. But it is a complete car and all original, even to the dealer-installed Tri-Shield floor mats and factory spinner hubcaps. The car shows a lot of rust and some poor collision repair, so I've started lining up sources for sheet metal pieces. I'll have some questions about suppliers in due time.

John, Love your Riv. One of two "someday" cars is a 65 or 66, the other a '56 Road Master! (I know a guy who has one with 2,600 actual miles.) I've started working on him!

YOU RANG? So, did you get another 64? My first Buick was a 64 Special post coupe 300/210, 3 on the tree. I now have 3 65s, 2 Specials and one Skylark.

I stumbled across another 64 2-door hardtop Skylark, with factory buckets. Red with a white inset top, red interior (as I said, same colors as my first one) and the 250HP 300 in front of a two speed auto. Got it for $750.00 Runs and drives, but needs tons of work.
