You can't fit really wide tires on the stock 15*6 rims. How fat are the rims you intend to use, 15*8-9? I remember hearing someone from Holland on the board having seen a car with a 295 tire under there.
I wanted to know what was the max width tire would fit so I could select the right size rim and offset. So 295 fits?
Check out this page... They make 17 and 18 inch wheels that look like 5-spoke Buick Rallyes... http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/wheel_detail.asp?subcat3=1031103 :TU:
ive had as wide as 255/60's on 15x 8" truck rallyes on my '73 . i little tight . i have now 235/70 's on 7" truck rallyes and they fit great sitting with just stock springs . it all depends if you want it all jacked up o No:
Don't know if these are the widest tires that will fit in the rear wheel wells, but my buddy Srecko has BF GOODRICH RADIAL TAs P275/60/15 on 15x7 Buick Rallys on his 1973 Buick Centurion 455 Convertible. He could have gotten a wider aftermarket rim to put a wider tire, but when you go wider you may lose height. The P275/60/15 is 28 inch tall. If you go with a wider rim you could probably like a P295/50/15, but it is just a little over 26 inches tall. I have a 1973 Buick Centurion and I have P255/70/15 on the rear. They are pretty decent, but I am going to put on the p275/60/15. You can Srecko's car on the GSNATIONALS website. He has the Black Centurion who took first place in his class. Good luck.
