these are the specs from the rims im about to order...

    Chrome, 15 in. x 7 in., 5 x 4.5/ 4.75/ 5 in. Bolt Circle, 3.5 in. Backspace

Would like to run at least a 255/60/15 in the rear..27" diameter
    and a 215/65/15 front....26" diameter

wondering if i can squeeze a 275/60/15 on 27.9" diameter . if not on the 7" rim i can get the same rim in a 15x8",with 3.65 Backspace.

any ideas guys? wanna order these asap

3.5" backspace is the backspacing for the 82-87 Regal/GN For the GS, 4 1/4-4 1/2" is what you want. With that backspacing, you can easily run those tire sizes. The 275 tire fits much better on the 8" rim Then and Now can order the right rims for you. http://www.thenandnowauto.com/

so if i was to run this rim...

    Rim Diameter (in): 15 in.
    Rim Width (in): 8.00 in.
    Backspacing (in): 4.250 in.
    Offset (mm): -6.00mm
    Rim Material: Steel
    Center Material: Cast aluminum
    Wheel Finish: Chrome

i would be good too run the 275's? they arent the ones i was planning on going with but if i need an 8 inch rim, and a 4 1/4 BS will work then these it is.... things sound about right?

    Rim Diameter (in): 15 in.
    Rim Width (in): 8.00 in.
    Backspacing (in): 4.750 in.
    Offset (mm): +6.00mm

The Buick Rallye Wheels are 15 X 7, and I believe the backspacing is 4 1/4". On the 15 X 8's I believe the backspacing is 4 1/2". The offset is irrelevant. The wheelwells on the 70-72 Skylark/GS is huge. The above measurements will center the tire in the wheelwell with room to spare. The 275's are no problem at all. IMO, the rallye wheels are the best looking wheel to put on these cars hands down, just my .02

    thanks LARRY70GS

i agree with the ralleye's being the best looking rim, mine came with 14x7's that well......have seen MUCH MUCH better days so was looking at otehr options. if you say a 15x8 rim with 4.5" BS works then great as son a sim off here im ordering my rims...thanks again

    Larry, (or whomever may know),,

Along this line if thinking. When I bought wheels for the GN, I of course have to buy the 3.5 backspace (or had to with the Weld Wheel I chose). Wheel is a 15x8.The tire size is the 255-60r-15 (the 275-60 nipped a bit on the outside on 1 side) I would like to alternate the wheels back and forth from the GS to the GN, and so forth. It "appears " the GS has the more forgiving wheel well, and I cant physically try it on the car yet, but in your opinion, how will it set in the wheel well?
The fronts are 15x7 with a 3.5bs as well.

    Thansk in advance,:TU:

With a 15x8, 4.5" backspacing centers the wheel in the wheel well. At 3.5", with a 275/60R15 tire, you will be getting close to the outer wheel well lip up near the top. I ran these for a while before going to my 15x10's with 5-5/8" backspacing and 325/50R15 tires.
