Big bolt pattern was 7" wide ( inside lip to inside lip )on mid to late 80's wagons All other big cars 64 thru late 70's had 6" wide , some Lesabres had the small pattern with 15 x 7 GS type wheels Bill
Problem w/widening them is that they're a "full-face" wheel unlike the 5x4.75 where the center is welded into the rim. Only way to widen the big car wheels to 8" is to split the rim and add a 1" spacer band. It can be done, but not many that know how to. There's a few vids on YouTube about doing it.
There was a guy sometime back was cutting the front off then welding that into the center into a 17" hoop of whatever width was desired. He lost his supply of the hoops.
well mine is a 72 with oem ones. big bolt pattern pretty sure they are 7 inch wide. i inquired about going to small pattern and got crickets. only small bolt pattern lesabres i know of was the 77 up when they offered the 7.5 rear or maybe back when they had the 8.2 rear in the early 60s late 50s. looks like the 7 inch wide wheels are the silver center cap ones vs the old red or r ones.
