    desertrat_1960 DIE !!! RICE BOY...ZERRP!

I wanted a Metal Chop Saw and didn't have the money to lay out . Most Chop Saws are just that CHOP Saws, not always accurate . Around $150.00
    Solution:
I've had a Dewalt 12" Compound Mitre Saw for Years (reconditioned from Harbor Freight Tools about $ 275.00)
Get yourself a 10-12" Recon Mitre Saw , Metal Cutting Disc to match usually a 1" Arbor in the 10-12" range .
24" of 1/4" x 3"x 18-24" Flat Stock steel , 5/16" Tap , 4 ea. 5/16 x 1" Allen Head Bolts w/washers . Drill Flange of saw (where stock backs up to) from the back side . Clamp solid piece of Flat Stock to flange and center punch plate from back side,
drill plate with 1/4" holes and tap out to 5/16" . bolt to Saw Flange and Flush Grind bolt ends from front . Set saw to 45* Rt and cut plate then set @ 45* left and cut again . Build a mobile stand ( I used an old Gas Grill BBQ. Frame)
There ya be, an accurate saw you can take with you to where you're working !
CAUTION : you MUST install the Plate or saw will kick back cutting stock at you or suck it into the blade . Not COOL
