Joe, your probably right! The real neat thing about the early C3 Corvettes was the chrome bumpers!!!! And to screw up the first of the model year is beyond me! :Do No: AL.

Looks as though he needs to spend a little bit more time on restoring the interior.

I agree!! That year he screwed up had one year only features (ask me how I know). There are many-many things about the 68 model year that were one year only. That is one of the hardest year to restore correctly, but truly unique when done correctly! AL.

What you really gotta like is that ONLY SERIOUS BIDS will be accepted.I guess this leaves my half hearted bid out of the question.

The console in the car IS a 68 :Smarty: . The shifter is not! As far as the rear section it had to be a 74-75 because the C3 no longer offered a convertable after 75 and the 68-73 had chrome bumpers. I like the later C3s (80-82) but don't think it looks right in a convertable, AL.

    yuk

The door release button just below the door handle was a '68 only feature. As stated earlier, 68s do have many 1 year only features, although many of them actually made the cars less desirable than 69 and later cars. The button made it akward to open the doors. 68 also had fiberglass quality problems.
I've always been a Buick nut, but I've also always been a Corvette nut. (I've owned a 69 convertible 350/350 hp, 4sp, 4.11 posi, A/C, numbers matching) But I must sadly admit that some Corvette people are real embarrasment to the auto hobby, with this auction being excellent proof. If not cars like this assembled out of factory parts, its insane aftermarket crap like wood dash kits, and lambswool seat covers.
This is what I like about the Buick community, we've got taste! Go fast wth class!
Buick muscle cars have a "hard to explain" combination of performance and luxury that is somehow understated, unpretentous, but worth bragging about and showing off. :)

You know what? From the Outside, I don't dislike it! Sure he chopped up a lot of classic car there, But from the exterior shots I like it. The interior looks like junk though.

No, your thinking of the 63-67 recievers. They had the knobs together at the top and the dial was long ways up and down.
In 68 the radios were like our Buicks, but the 68 had one year only knobs and the center gauge cluster was one year only because the black painted part was smooth and from 69-77 it had a grain embossed in it. BTW to make things worse there were first and second design center gauge cluster because of the wiper over ride indicator light. AL.

That part was never in question! Its just I see many of these classics badly altered like this one then they sell it in a short peroid of time then a restorer has to fix up the mess, AL.
