Why would Car Craft print this?

Well, I gave up on reading Carp Craft a couple of decades ago. The GOOD STUFF to read is right here.

TA Dave: common parts should be bought from Buick vendors if possible - the price is comparable - special order anyway whether local parts house or Buick vendor - shipping comparable to local sales tax.

Jake, I don't think anyone here was really that down on Chevies, they are just a little miffed that it's rare enough that a Buick gets ink, and when it was mentioned, it was a put down. Add that to the fact that the guy doesn't know what he's talking about, and you can see why there's resentment. Any "car guy" who says something as boneheaded as "I'd rather have the worst camaro than any Buick" isn't really a car guy at all, he's just probably a guy who thinks old cars are cool, tossed a sack of money at a car, and doesn't know swept volume from a freeze plug. I'm sure there's Buick owners like that, too. And I don't think that anyone could argue that the Chevy small block is the best ever made. Personally, I'd love a '67 Corvette roadster with a 327 and a 4 speed. But I think my Buick's a better looking car. Plus, 2 of my friends can cruise in it with me.

That Holley Olds that PHR is doing caught my eye also. Why claim it is a ground up perfect resto job and then put a BBC in it. The engine compartment looks more like a drag car than a resto. Nice car but advertise it for what it is! Brian

How can you guys take a comment like that seriously?
Come on , the worst camaro? that must be a 1980 or 81 with a 267, maybe wire wheel covers, might even have that really cool shiny silver interior:puzzled:
He can keep his Crapmaro. I have my Buick because I don't want to be one of the herd.

  5. I know better than to take that guys comment seriously...what I take seriously is CC's decision to print such garbage, to actually give the guy the opportunity to slam someone else's favorite brand of muscle. If I sent in a similar comment directed towards a Camaro (which I wouldn't do) do you think they would print it? Such as: "I would rather own a 68 Special 4dr 6cyl than ANY Camaro"... :Dou:

    Hi Dave,
Controversy sells magazines, or just about anything for that matter. You or I just may pick up a copy the next time looking for a comeback or something from one of the Faithful:af:
You should send a reply, we all should.
And I agree, Give me any Buick before I would drive a Camaro.
    Camaro's are like:moonu: Everyone has one:grin:
    Adam.

I knew that comment wouldn't go unseen by this bunch. Still, I like CC because they seem to consistently post good material for A-Body cars that I find useful.
As for the Camaro Kid, I wonder if he was present SAT while the Chevy contingent was outrun time after time in Reynolds, GA???

After going to a few shows with me my wife told me she was sick of seeing all the Chevelles and Camaros. I was then informed that there was no way I could ever get a Chevelle. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together!

  9. I did try emailing CC, a couple times, but they kept bouncing back, so I quit wasting my time...
