I have owened several Buick's mainly Park ave's Electras, but recently I bought a 1995 Riviera with 32k. The interior is perfect and the exterior is close to it. My piont is if GM had kept on making cars such as these would they be in any of the problems that they are in today. What i really want is ss-rz limited edition sunfire:laugh: That will keep them in biz.

I don't think that's the problem. GM builds plenty of quality rigs but costs in production and probably bloated corporate costs have made it harder to keep costs in line.
I bought my dodge truck because it was way cheaper than a Chevy. Should have split the difference and got a Ford since they make a fine truck also.
I've been around a lot of new GM trucks and SUV's in the last couple decades. Some mine, some company rigs and they build a fine product with outright luxury for a truck. They hold up well and have an engine line up that lets you pick from great economy to able to pull a small building. My '05 trailblazer has 100,000 miles on it and it still runs and drives like new with one exception. I have to do my first maintenance soon. At 100,000 miles I need a water pump. I'm starting to feel the first sign of something other than absolute smooth when I hit the brakes so that will be next. Then I'll probably look at those 100,000 mile old spark plugs...... Just because!
I think GM's troubles are all about wasted money and the effect that has on the consumer.

I agree. I purchased new an 07 Silverado LT with the 5.3 and 3.42 gears, with every option available. The truck has 96,000 miles on it now, the only things I've had to do it was 1 set of brakes on all 4 corners at 72,000 miles, 1 set of tires and the required oil changes. This truck gets worked and still averages 15.8 miles per gallon around town and is like a Cadillac inside. I love it and would most definatly purchase another one.
