Because chizzlers aren't Buicks. And anyway, I get all cut up on those things. The Dodge Bros did it different, that's for sure. I have one Dodge (my middle son's) in the stable, and it's going to be thinned fairly soon for another Buick. That thing cuts me almost every time I work on it...I named it "Christine" for that reason.
Back a few years ago I was in a Mopar museum in Hays Ks. They had a Fury GT 440 4 spd there and while I liked the car I was not all that impressed with it when you look around at 6 hemi Cuda's, Daytona and Superbird. Including a Superbird with a facvtory sunroof Looks like he thinks rare is valuable in every case.
They are rare because they were butt ugly and no one bought them! Just like Edsels sort of. Now the hemi was a hell of an engine and the 440 magnum. Even today, Chrysler still stresses that in their ads. Still butt ugly too! Like when someone wants you go on a blind date and talks about her "nice personality".
its been for sale since the 90s in the same condition shown, and its been overpriced since then too..rare car....neat...rare and neat dont equal valuable.....
Because... you could get an nice Buick that was driveable for that? I've seen these at the Demo derbies. That's where this one belongs. :eek2:
Exactly why we have a Buick right now. My son and I were looking for a muscle car to build. Looked for them all, Chevelle, Mustang, Trans Am, Camaro, Challenger... we could find a junkyard, not running car to start with for about $4000. Then we happen to come across this Skylark, got to say, I'm glad we luck into a Buick.
I remember seeing a lot of these in my rear view mirror in the early 70's but they were all 4 door models and had red lights on top
been there...done that. although not a GT 440/6, I sold mine after getting the SunCoupe. Was a pretty cool car though, still have never another one with buckets and console/floor shift. Most of the Furys with buckets had a fold down center armrest and were column shift. Also had the headlight delay option.
only had 1 chrysler product. 69 Fury III. Slant 6. Beat the heck outta that car and eventualy made it into a Furycamino.Althouth it took all the abuse I could heap on it I wouldnt want to own another one.
I Just dont see why anyone would want that. I think its UGLY and I would not want to drive it. I dont care about how fast it is. I like the combination of Buick Style and power. There is a reason people say Buicks are "Fast with Class" :TU:
I personally feel the car is hideous. I'd never spend $20,000 on that when I could get a nice GS for that kind of $.
I got me Chrysler that's as big as a whale and it's not about to set sail.... Rare car for sure but  ... Man that would be one heck of a project. Might be worth it for the parts car alone eh... I personally always feel great about removed body tags. If I went 440 6bbl think I would go with my brothers car that he dragged home back in the early 80's. :3gears:
