Im thinking about putting a new cover on an engine im rebuilding and wanted some info on who makes the best and best price. the one on my car as of now puts out 10psi@ 600rpm and around 55-60 psi at 75-80mph. Would it just be best to spend the $100 on a new one and go? Im on a very very limited budget. But i also dont want to take any short cuts. At around 5000rpm the motor is putting out 80psi on the gauge. So what do you think would be best? The old cover isnt scored inside the housing area, When i rebuilt the pump a couple years ago, all the gaps checked out fine and were well within the book specs.

You can buy this item brand new from GM still. It is a V6 cover that differs just slightly. It allows for the use of a neoprene seal in the front instead of the rope seal also. JC Whitney sells one for around $129 also that is the same thing.
GM part number 12337249 . Other than that, TA Performance sells them too.
