I was wondering if anyone else recently recurved their distributor, I'm working on my currently and got the springs on and the weights but noticed that when I went to put the new bushing on to limit the mechanical advance their is a lip on the pin that I can't get the bushing to push up past? Has anyone else had a similar situation!!! Any advice would be appreciated!!:idea2:

First you need to power time the engine. Then determine if the resulting initial timing is too low. If it is, then you need the bushing. If you have the original 1972 350 distributor, there is no need for that bushing.

What determines if I need the bushing or not? Is there something to look for to tell if it is the original distributor.

1112109 is the original distributor. The number is on the circumference of the distributor body right below the bottom edge of the cap. My last post answered your above question.
