I see so many listed as member's cars. How many of the things did they make in '70, anyway?? Seems a lot survived. On mine, it just seems the build quality was high. A sign of being built in Flint, maybe? I don't know, but the car has weathered more abuse than is standard for 10 cars, and come out smiling. So who here has a '70 Skylark Custom convertible? I do I do :TU:
According to Buicks.net, 4,954 Skylark Custom convertibles were built in 1970. It is a Buick after all. Wouldn't You Really Rather Have a Buick? :TU:
Phil, Your machine is not a Skylark convertible but a real and honest 70 GS 455 Convertible........that runs 12sssss.......:boring:
Re: Re: Who here has a '70 Skylark Convertible? Marco, tell me you're kidding! And I sold the motor? I love my buddy like a brother and all, but what was I thinking?! Probably that his Skylark needed a motor, I suppose. But maybe I should have just bought him a junkyard 350, huh? Less than 5000 examples, wow I had no idea. Oh well, the original motor's gone, but he car's still around. I can't beleive it's that low production and I sold the motor. Plus it's an early '70. D'OH! ou: Well, it's faster now than it was then is how I'll look at it. Thanks for the information, Marco!
I have one but I'm parting it out and there aint much left. Used to be my daily driver and my only car the first two years I owned it (86-87). :ball:
I got my '70 Skylark Custom Convertible for FREE (Previous owner said "This Piece of S... is in my way, and I want it gone! I don't have enough room to work on my '69 Camaro Pro Street!"), 2 years ago, and since then, it now has new paint, top, engine, GS Hood, GSX rear spoiler, and interior! Paint is Dodge Viper GTS Blue Metallic. Considering (White) GSX stripes...:Brow: :bglasses: By the way, the "previous" owner NOW wants to buy it back, after he's "heard" that it's now all restored (because he wants to sell it for profit). That will NEVER happen, Mr. Chevy!:moonu: :TU:
Hey Scott, That story sounds familiar, I paid $50.00 for mine the previous owner was sending it to the scrap heep. Now that it is all restored he is begging me to have it back. No chance in hell..:moonu:
Count me in... 4/29/70 was the build date. I also have noticed a few in movies made lately. ( Besides Brittany's movie) Russ Waters 1970 Skylark Convertible 455:grin:
