Do you like them? How is the ride? How is the traction? Thanks!

I have the 325/50R15's on the back of my car. Traction is great, but get ready to have your lower quarters peppered from all the stones they'll pick up because they're so sticky.

Ride is OK. Overall, for their intended purpose they are very good. Definitely bette than the BFG DragRadials I used to have.

You wanna stick? Get them. You want long tire life? Get something else. Much better ride than any of the bias ply stickes I used to run. The still are not a daily driver tire and are no-doubt deadly in the rain.

Ditto on above. I would not want to get caught out in a rain storm with them. For longer life, the Nitto's have a harder compound.

I have a set of 295/65/r15 for my Century. I have'nt run them on the street that much but they do ride a little better than my other street tires. They deffinatly have a lot of bite. For the small amount I have used them I'm happy. They look bada$$ to. Check out my pics in this post.

    Thanks for the replies!

I have been running 275-60-15 M&H Racemaster DOT's for a while. They are bias plys and require tubes. They stick well after you warm them up a bit, grab a lot of stones and are terrible in the rain. I just hate the way they handle, and was hoping the MT ET street radials are better on the road.

I have also run BFG DR's on my GN. They have much more street manners than the M&H's, but you still know they aren't the everyday radial.

I think I'll try some MT's on my GS.

I run the 275/60/15 ET Street Radial on my '72 A-body, and I love them. Other than the aforementioned stones on the quarters problem (not a problem for me b/c my car isn't painted), they're great. They do, in fact, suck in the rain (gotten stuck in the rain on the way back from the track a few times), and snow traction leaves something to be desired (had to move the car this winter when I bought a house - yeeesh), but they do make for a great ride on the street. I didn't put as many miles on as I usually do last year, but I doubt a pair would last a season on the street and track for a real bracket racer. The best burnout procedure is one really hard burnout at the beginning of the day to get them sticky, and then only light hazings to remove the debris for the rest of the day. I run mine on the street with around 30-32lbs in them, and then drop down to 22lbs at the track.

Now my bias ply front tires, THOSE suck on the street.

Oh, and if you're looking for great prices on these tires, there is a VERY inexpensive tire wholesaler on eBay that sells them for like $285 a pair, with like $28 shipping. Much better than the racer catalogs!

Just to make sure, you are saying do not get the M & H's. Almost was ready to run with those but will stand by and see what you go with.
Sounds like you get some daily driving in right? Thats the plan with these machines, and they still need to look nice. The BFG's looks just don't appeal to me. What about QTP's?

    Joe,

I'm going with the MT ET streets 275-60-15's. I've had enough of dealing with tubes and the horrible ride that the M & H Streetmasters offer.

Hey thanks, If you don't mind, let me know what you think of them when you get them. I will be running the same size on a Weld Rim. If you could take pics, that would be awsome too.

275/60/15's for me. Traction is great most of the time. I got better ET's with them than similar size ET Drags, mainly due to the stiffer sidewall and a resulting harder launch.

They are too inconsistent for bracket racing, in my opinion. Or, to be fair to the tire, maybe my technique is inconsistent.....but bottom line is that they are less forgiving of driver inconsistency than a slick.

I ran a 275/50 BFG early in the summer, but didn't like how they rubbed on my '66 so I changed down to a 235/60 MT in August--I ran them once a week until November.

I run 99% of the time on the street, and comparing the two... the narrower MT hooks MUCH better than the BFG. (150NX shot/350/TH350/full locker 12 bolt)

I was launching the car on the hit and having no problems on an un-prepped street--granted the small block didn't make the same kind of torque a big block would, spray or not.

    The '66 with small MT's...
