Who sells a decent 455 buick short block? I do not need one but since I plan on spending $2600 or so on a set of TA heads, about $380 on there intake, and quite a bit on a set of headers I need to know what to expect to pay for a decent short block. I like to always have a second short block sitting around since I race nation wide and have on average 18 races a year. If something goes wrong I dont have time to rebuild the one in the car. The engine in the car will be rebuilt after I change out to the new one, that way I will still have 2 on hand. I dont want just a generic short block as I want to be able to have forged pistons and a higher compression ratio than stock.

Does TA performance have short blocks? I would love to buy there $15,000 502 that makes 750hp and is plummbed for 400ho of nitrous but I just cant afford that at the moment.

There are a few reputable builders on this board that can help you with that. Trishield performance, Jeff Strube and others. I am sure someone will volunteer! Trishield list a level one pump gas short block for $3995 on their website.

I want one already assemebled and ready to go. I have 3 cars I am working on right now. My car which is an SRT4, My wifes car which is the one we are discussing, and my brothers car which is soon to be a blown 351 windsor in an 86 crown VIC. I have to have all 3 ready to go by the end of May for our first really big race in West Virginia. I also have to change the tranny in one of our tow vehicles. Then I have a race in Tulsa, One in Houston, One in Los Vegas, one in Ohio, two here, and probably several inbetween those. Then I have the world Finals in Gainsville. This is not to mention the car shows I have, the school presentations, and the weekly test and tune where I challenge teens and young adults to heads up racing to get them on the track and off the street.
