I've been using Fel-pro head gaskets and I could be happier. They are on the thick side as well as they tend to give more easily than I'm interested. I like the TA Orange Crush gasket but it's a little on the expensive side, $90 + shipping. The Felpro runs about $40 to my door. Anyone know of any other companies that offer a good head gasket for a Buick 455? Thanks in advance. :beers2:
If you're looking for thinner gaskets, Cometic is the only other option. TA sells them as well as Gessler, the thinnest is 0.027" Devon
I've been using the head gaskets that Mr. Gasket supplied in their sets(I think McCord made them and they were grey) for a while and they worked good. However they are also .040" thick and in they last set they looked suspiciously like the Fel-Pro but with just enough changes not to be. Probably some Chinese rip-off copy now so I'll have to see how they work. You can get them from Summit. I liked the Orange Crush gaskets also but pricey for general use. For a '70-71 engine you could try the .020" steel shim gaskets. Doesn't TA sell them? They are a bit more expensive though.
