The 65 lark Stage II I'm finishing up, has a complete wiring replacement, not a prepackaged loom or a painless but a complete redo by me. Now, I've used relays installed in the trunk and on the firewall as well as on a control panel under the dash: relays that operate the MSD6AL, fan, water pump and virtually all the lights. Using relays with the lights gives me a monster increase in brightness. So here's the rub. Because the old system used the bymetal type flasher(s) and I'm using a relay that has almost no load, the flashers won't be workable as there is nearly no load. So, who makes a solid state 12 volt timer, a small one. I was at Radio Trash today and they have no idea. I can make one but it's a pain. I'd rather have one already made. I know the newer vehicles with LED tail lights don't use the bimetal flashers, they probably have som'n going on in the 'puter. I can use a resistor and a capacitor wired in series but don't want to because I can't vary the time. I can use a capacitor and a POT, that would very the time and make it adjustable but I would need two, working exactly the same. Soooooo, who can help me out.

I ment to say capacitor and resistor wired in parallel, not series... DUH!!!

Alarm Controls UT-1 Timer we use them on Burglar alarms to flash lights, bells etc might work for you. However I was just at Advanced and they have solid state flashers, might me a better option.

I can make you a solid state unit if you want. Just let me know.

Len, I always thought the sequential turn signals on the 67-70 Cougars were pretty cool.....but they would look even cooler on a '65 lark! :bglasses:
There are some aftermarket sequential LED flasher kits available.... A Google search for 'Cougar sequential turn signals' yielded a hit for such a setup, 'bout $189....

I could build a sequential unit for much less. If anyone is interested, let me know.
