My spark plugs are a little white after may be 15k. I adjusted the carb a/f screws to the higest vac reading and back in a little for fine tuning. Is my .45 gap setting too big for my. H.E.I. , 2 barrel equipped 350?

You could be running a little lean on the carb jetting, but unleaded gas doesn't show a tan color very easily. Mine burn pretty white too, but will take on the tan color after awhile. Look at them with a good magnifying glass. If you see any tiny little specs on the porcelin you are too lean. If not, and you have no pinging, give them awhile and look at them again.

The part # R45TS installed now, so if I did want to step down a size what would the next size be? I had plan on getting the carb rebuilt, would just a rebuild help it from running lean, or should I go for the jets as well

I see you are trying to fix something that isn't broken:laugh: Most engines will run better when they are a touch lean. Unleaded fuel does not color the plugs as much as the leaded stuff. The best way to tell if an engine is running too lean is to use a wide band O2 sensor kit like these:

If you want to step down to a colder plug, use the R44TS, or the R43TS
