I just replaced the timing cover and flushed the engine ect and today after a 50 mile drive my 430 started blowing a little white smoke from both exhaust pipes, The engine was rebuilt about 10 years ago or 20,000 miles. It has 120K total on the engine. It runs great but wondering what causes a bit of white smoke ....Im thinking I may have got a bit of water down in the block but I already changed the oil once. Im using strait 30 weight and a pint of STP oil treatment. Any suggestions ? Thanks again from Arizona ! :Comp:

White smoke blowing out the exhaust means water in one or more cylinders. There really is no way that water got into a cylinder by changing the timing cover. Remove and check the spark plugs for rust deposits. There may be a head cylinder gasket leaking.

White smoke is not caused exclusively by coolant entering the combustion area. When the diaphragm in a vacuum modulator fails and your engine ingests trans fluid, the smoke created is about as white as you will ever see exiting the tailpipes. Try disconnecting the vacuum line to the modulator, and see if it still smokes.
