Which will flow better? Unported Eddy heads or Gessler level 3 ported Iron Stage1's?

Just for fun, I measured the cc's of one of the S1 ported intake and exhaust ports. Makes for another interesting comparison with the Edelbrock aluminum heads:

    Intake

    Ported S1 = 190cc Stock Edelbrock 215cc

    Exhaust

    Ported S1 = 140cc Stock Edelbrock 130cc

For the exhaust, the runner size difference is contrary to the flow numbers. The Edelbrock exhaust clearly outflowed my ported S1 exhaust.

I'm not sure what the unported intake runner size is on a stock S1 iron head. Does anyone have this info? It would be nice to know how much material was removed after porting. I once measured the intake ports of small valve 455 heads and it was about 170cc after a bowl blend.

BTW - Keep in mind that the flow comparison I did earlier was interesting, but not at all scientific. It would be a better comparison if both were measured at the same time on the same flow machine. Maybe JW can put up a ported S1 against a stock Eddy one after the other some time?

The S1 exhaust openings are noticeably larger than the Edelbrock. I guess size isn't everything!
