I am installing an Edelbrock carb on my 350. Which ports do I use for my components. I assume the left one is the vacuum advance port, and the one to the right is for my fuel vapor canister? Or do I plug that one and not use the vapor canister.

    Please help

The large port in the center is generally used for the PCV valve. The smaller port on the left is for ported (or timed) vacuum advance. The capped port on the right is for manifold vacuum advance.

Did this carburetor come with instructions? Does anyone ever read them.:). For the PCV, you want a manifold vacuum connection. It should also be a 3/8” nipple. Some carburetors have a connection for a vapor canister and it will look the same but only be a vent. Make sure you differentiate between the two. With the engine running at idle, if you uncover a manifold vacuum connection, it will hiss at you and make the engine run rough if not stalling it. A ported connection will have no vacuum until you open the throttle, so you can tell one from another like that. Climate controls and air cleaner need manifold vacuum, distributor can use ported or manifold vacuum, your choice.
