I'm a rookie with Buicks so I don't know the proper conv. for me. I have a 70 GS with a 9.75 455, Poston GS110 cam, S-Divider intake, headers, 800Q-jet, turbo 400, 12 bolt 3:73. I want my car to run low 12s or wishfull thinking 11s. It has 72 model heads with a little cleanup done to the runners and bowl. I had a 2500 conv. in it and it didn't seem like enough so I put a 4500 in it and its way too loose, flashes at 5500. Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

3000-3500 stall should be about right.

i would say you need one that flashes around 3500 to 4000 with your set up. that cams power band starts around 3000. just my 2 cents.

Please post your name so we know who were talking to,we're pretty friendly around here.
If you want the power to get in the low 12's high 11's,your combo is pretty good, except for your intake,i would look into TA's SP1,At least a 3500 stall converter, and a carb that flows at least 1,000 cfm's.
You've got the gears and cam, some head porting work would definitely get you there.
Tune your suspension accordingly and have fun.Theres a lot more info on this board, take your time and do some research.
All the info you need is here. Good Luck:TU:
