Which seats would be correct for my Wildcat

I have some other kind of seats in my car, from mid 80's Camaro or similar. So what seats or bench would be correct or fit in my 66 Wildcat. Someone said any large GM 65-68 (2-door) car except Cadillac, would that be correct? I'm going to have them re-covered anyway so the pattern wouldn't matter.

That depends of your car's body/trim numbers.

1966 was the first year for the Strato-buckets. The 1965 and earlier seats will not be correct. I think that any GM product, except Cadillac, will work. The tracks will probably need to come from any BOP B-body though, I'm not sure about the Chevy seat tracks.

I have a set of rear seats in black for a 2dr. hdtp. that are in really good shape. I also have the front bench seat, tracks & all attaching parts. This seat is in sad shape upholstery wise. Problem is, shipping from Ct. would be costly.

I like the '66 Wildcat Seats with the Cathead buttons. Anybody got a picture?

Derek, have you ever seen that real sweet 65 or 66 white Cat convert in St. Vital?? I see it sitting in his driveway every time I go to, and come home, from work. He almost never drives it, or so it seems.

One of these days I'm going to stop in for a closer look.

The seats that Derek showed are correct for the 1966 model 46637 (Wildcat Custom hardtop coupe) with column shift. It's called a "notchback" seat and a similar one was also used in 1965 in some Wildcat Custom coupes and convertibles, and 1965-66 Electra 225 Custom coupe and convertible. Some 4 doors also have these seats but their backrests are fixed. From what I remember, you just have to remove a bracket that holds them in fixed position if you want to use them in a coupe.

If you have a 46437, the seat will be a regular bench seat, the 1965-66 LeSabre Custom coupe will have a similar seat. I think that the base LeSabre model has less aluminium trim on them. the 4 doors have a backrest that's not divided so it won't fit.

The Strato bucket seats was available as an option on the '66 Wildcat Custom coupe. They are found in many GM products but they are 1966 only as the newer ones have locking backrests.

My '65 LeSabre custom coupe came with buckets and a "consolette", also known as an ironing board console.

The "notchback bench" is my favorite bench seat, and I am a devoted bucket seat man.

Tom - I thought I had responded to this...guess I was dreaming or somehow it did not take. If you mean the one on Dakota, it is a 65 Electra...it was featured in the Free Press at one time. I remember when he used it in his Christmas yard display...I went to the December MCAAC meeting announcing that Santa drives a Buick...wish I had a photo of that.

No, I haven't seen that one. I meant the one on Dunkirk, just south of the Canoe Club Golf Course.

Dunkirk, Dakota, Osborne...all the same :Do No: I think we are talking about the same car on the west side between the golf course and the lights farther south.

For those who aren't from Winnipeg, we have a road that at its furthest south is Dakota...as you drive north, it becomes Dunkirk, then Osborne...now I might get the order confused...Memorial, Isabel, then Salter. I think I got them all...and that is in the span of less than 5 miles.
