Currently i am running r-44tsx plugs in my engine and they seem to be getting dark and possibly fouling out. They are gapped at .054. What plugs should i run, ts or tsx and what heat range. My ignition is points dist firing a 6a box with a mallory promaster 29625 coil with r-44tsx plugs gapped at .054. My engine has 10:1 comp, ta 310 cam, 750 holley dp, ta 1" 5/8 headers, 3000 stall and 4.10's. On friday and saturday it started up on teh first turn of the motor and ran perfect untill today now its running on 7 cyliders and starts alittle harder. What would be a good plug? Thanks Jeramie

Try a projected nose plug. It places the gap further into the combustion chamber. Champion RV17YC, or NGK UR-4. The plug has a wider heat range, runs hotter at low speed and cooler at high speed. They offer more resistance to fouling, and you may notice an increase in power with this type of plug, I did. Try a .045 gap. This is a picture of the AC R43TS6, Champion RV15YC, and NGK UR-55
