which oil pressure spring?

    I have 68 gs 400, i just put oil pump gears and a booster plate.i have a red and white spring in the kit, which one should i use?the kit tells me to use the white spring.i'm installing a mech. oil pressure guage this weekend.

    I've been told to only use the white spring. That's what I have in my 455.

    For $20 TA has an adjustable

    Should buy a booster plate too, which will help save your cover.:TU:

    Use the white spring, that should be the 60 pounder. Don't use the red, your pump will try to make 100 psi:eek2: An adjustable regulator with a stock spring is an even better idea.

    I JUST INSTALLED THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE.60 PSI AT IDLE COLD WITH WHITE SPRING.STILL HAVE A COUPLE LIFTERS TAPPING ON DRIVER SIDE.GOING TO INSTALL BYPASS LINE ON LIFTER OIL PORTS,AND NEW LIFTERS.SHOULD I CONVERT TO 70 TYPE LIFTERS AND PUSHRODS?HOW SHOULD I BLOCK THE OIL TO THE ROCKERSHAFTS?
