Which is longer?......(Vette vs Caddy)

.....We got this '78 Vette traded in a month or two ago. I drove it around a little bit, runs great, and is probably the most squeak and rattle free one I've ever been in.....I can get it for $2500 by the way, but the black 80s stripes are killing me, and I'd just flog it into oblivion anyway..... Well, one day I drove my Caddy to work and had them parked side by side. I got to looking at the Vette and noticed how long it's hood/bumper is. So, we made a bet in the shop. Which do you think is longer, the Corvette or my '70 Coupe Deville from the base of the windshield in the middle to the tip of the bumper? And by how much? (answer below the pics).....


Answer: The Corvette nose is over 18" longer than my ginormous Cadillac front end. That's not a typo, it's a freaking foot and a half longer! I was amazed.

 

Well, a lot of men bought Corvettes because they shout ‘Mine’s Longer!’

Its a steal at 2500. you can flip it for three times it's cost easily.

 

Had an 82, had to really watch not to put the point of the nose into stuff as you couldn’t see it

 

I agree, but we get C3s and C4s quite a bit, and this one was on the lot for $4500 for two months and no takers. It's really, really clean, but the stripes, wheels, and the fact that the interior is BROWN are the big turn offs for people I think. And now it's snowing, so its contracted and headed to a wholesale auction.

EDIT: I forgot to mention we have a rule at work that if we buy a car for what we gave the customer on trade, we have to keep it for at least a year (to avoid employees just flipping cars)....and there's no way I'm keeping a non-chrome bumper C3 for that long.

I would have never thought that pretty cool.

 

I knew they were long noses, but I never would've guessed a foot and a half longer than the caddy!!!

(Side note: that caddy is B.A.!!!)

 

Thats the first documented case that a vette owner can say their's is longer.

 

My dad converted several of the 80~82 to convertibles they looked really nice. His was pretty badass, was an original 70 Lt1 car, he eventually morphed into the 80/82 with the Daytona front clip and rear spoiler.

Man, I'd be curious of the price, but if I came home with that thing, the wife would be loading MY corpse into the trunk.....

Biggest Red is way longer than my Corvette ZR1. It is the same length as a Chevy Suburban. Might even be able to fit a Smart Car in that trunk.........

 

Mine is a little less than foot shorter total than my '94 Supercab Longbox F250. Random fact: The Coupe and Sedan Deville are the same length, they just lengthened the "cab" between the 2 door and 4 door.....incoming PM for the Yachtsman.
