I have a 350, 800cfm qjet, poston intake, mild cam, headers, 2800 stall, not daily driver but will be on the street primarily. Given that, which of these 4 fuel pumps would you get? http://store.summitracing.com/partd...891547+4294908395+4294908256+115&autoview=sku http://store.summitracing.com/partd...891547+4294908395+4294908171+115&autoview=sku http://store.summitracing.com/partd...891547+4294908395+4294908171+115&autoview=sku http://store.summitracing.com/partd...891547+4294908395+4294908171+115&autoview=sku
You need to make sure you are spec'ing this for a Buick engine. Just glancing at one of those, all I see are Chev applications. Not all Buicks had Buick engines. TA Performance has a "Stage 1" 350 chrome fuel pump, or you should be able to order thru a local parts store, like NAPA, etc. For a mild combo, a stock fuel pump should be fine.
For instance, I just searched Summit for a 1970 Buick 350 fuel pump, and nothing comes up. Summit/Jegs and the like are not "good" Buick parts suppliers. Look to places like TA and Poston Buick, or your local parts stores can order a stock replacement if they don't carry one. Make sure they understand it is for a BUICK 350.
Oops I forgot to hit "search within results", so it ignored the fact that I was looking for a 70 skylark. My bad! Good to know that a stock fuel pump will work fine, that's what I'll go with then.
sounds like your getting ready for start up on your ebay motor... hope it runs strong for you ....:TU: btw....by any chance you have a double roller timing chain on that motor ...?? if you dont know ask the seller.. I believe a slight trimming is needed on the arm of pump if its double roller...
I definitely don't know and the seller didn't know much either, he bought the motor from someone else, so looks like I won't ever know what cam or pistons I have in there. How do I tell if I have a double roller timing chain? I'll look myself. And yes, I'm close to being ready for startup. The old motor is out and the new motor should be going in this sunday. It's going to be a great day!
if you have a double roller chain ,slot the pump bolt holes rather than grind the pump arm if possible as i have seen one bend after its been notched use lock washers on the bolt if you can as they can come loose i hve not seen it on a 350 but many v6 motor 80-87 they are the same front cover so it can happen
good question ....without taking the timing cover off I wouldn't know ...maybe flashlight through the fuel pump hole o No: maybe someone else will chime in ...
ooops .....I make boo boo I am mistaken ...according to TA's web-site our 350's dont have a problem with double roller and fuel pump arms ...only the bbb's from TA's site... .
