It's time for me to step up to a modern digital dial back timing light. I've been looking at the Inova series 3568 and 5568 sold by Summit and my local parts store. Are there any others I should be looking at?
I have and like my old Matco MD 84 digital dial back plus tach. This newer model looks very lightly used and is a decent price.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/373165996440
I have a Sears light that I have for years. They are good lights, https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sears-Craf...317075&hash=item4b809a71fa:g:SvQAAOSw2glfTk46 https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...1313&_nkw=Sears+advance+timing+light&_sacat=0
The Ebay seller for the Matco just sent me an offer for $130. Probably from viewing. I bet he'd take $125 maybe even shipped. Light looks almost unused.... Here's a real nice Snap-On. https://www.ebay.com/itm/193643620680
I just bought the Inova 3568 from Advance Auto. With 25% off sale price was only $75. Only difference between the 3568 and the 5568 is the addition of a voltmeter and dwell meter which I don't need with electronic ignition. Thanks for the ideas, fellas.
Try it right away. I bought the 3568 and it didn't work after it sat on my self for a year - no return. I bought the 5568 ($117 Amazon) and haven't looked back - great light and much better made.
Stay away from the digitals. They all suck... Made in china trash.... Even the truck tools... Just find yourself a older Made in USA Sears craftsman..
I have the 5568. Had an issue , the strobe light went out, called them up, sent it back to them, They sent me a new one no questions asked. To me great customer service is a huge +.
Like Larry I have an older (like 30+ years) Craftsman. Works every single time and has outlasted and outperformed several other models/brands.
Mine's an old-school (sorta) Snap-On MT2261-A...made in Mexico but has been dependable enough for me over the years.
