i have noticedmost guys here use q-jets. Is there any reason besides that they were orignal equipment.
has any one tried the edelbrock performer carb or any holley carbs.
i plan on buying the TA stage 1 intake manifold. i am not sure what carb to get. i am slightly on a budget. any suggestions?

That intake has bolt patterns for Q-Jet and Spread or Standard Flange Holley's.. Personally, I'd nab a Q-Jet and have it worked over by a good shop or carb guru.. :)

Figure a core carb costs abour 20$ and having it done costs around 250$ you have a good carb for under 300$. Holley's I think go for at least 50-100 bucks more.

I think most of us like the Q-Jets because of the decent mileage you can get with them, the tuneablity and that marvelous sound full boat..
