I have a 1970 Buick Skylarkl 350 2bbl. I am going to rebuild the engine soon and change over to a T/A stage 1 intake and a 4bbl carb. I'm not sure what brand carb to choose. I know they have a package that comes with the carb, but i dont want that. I'm looking for a 4bbl 600cfm carb.

Best for cruising and performance in my opinion, is the Quadrajet. Stock Buick 350 came from factory with 750 cfm. I keep original Buick 350 cores in stock to custom build from if you are interested.

Short answer is $315 shipped in US. Breaks down to $225 for build, $65 core charge refunded if you return and buildable quadrajet and $25 for shipping in US.
Look at my website to see what all is done on a new quadrajet from me. Much more than just a clean and kit. It will be better than new and guaranteed.

Just to add my 10 cents (inflation... lol)

I got my Rochester carb from CarManTx for my 455 last year. It works perfectly! The sales experience was nice and smooth. Definitely recommend.

Wold you recommend a stock rebuild or performance. It will be a street/strip car about 400 hp.

I would need cam spec and compression information. With that HP you would need modifications to the idle and main circuits of the quadrajet for correct idle. So you would need the performance option that includes those modifications. Would also include a different secondary rod.

I recently swapped from a 2 to 4 barrel carb. Went with the TA intake and the 750 quadrajet (as recommended by the fine folks on this board). I couldn't be happier with it. When I had one built, I also upgraded to an electric choke at the time.
