hallo, i decided to tune up my 300 cui engine from 65,with some goodies from the 64 300. :Brow: so ,i get soon alu heads and a intake manifold from a 64. :laugh: i will use QJ 550 carb.does stock fuelpump fit? but does my stock cam fit the alu heads? and anybody an idea should i use headers and what do they circa cost? o No: which ignition? thanks michael :TU:
Stay with the cast iron heads--they have larger intake ports and flow better. You have to use the cast iron intake with them though--the Aluminum '64 intake won't fit due to the big difference in intake port size. The block and all the bottom end is the same between '64 and '65--just have different heads/intake.
