Of course, the $5 footlong promo started in 2008 and ONLY COVERED THE SANDWICH ITSELF. That $5 would be about $7.25 today. The new $6 six-inch promo INCLUDES CHIPS AND A DRINK. So a $7.25 footlong plus 2 chips and 2 drinks would probably cost about the same $12 as two of the new promos. Summary: The new prices aint that crazy if you stop and think about it. I've wondered for a while if Subway shot themselves in the foot long term with the $5 footlong campaign. Great while it lasted, but so memorable that customers are now turned off by the new prices. No one notices higher prices at Wendy's or Mickey Dee's that much, but Subway's stupid jingle makes their prices more noticable.
